Summit Christian Academy is excited to announce Chris Burnett as its new Athletic Director and Monique Keeley as Assistant Athletic Director. The leadership transition comes after three years of growth under the leadership of Coach Horne, whose impact has been felt across every level of Summit Athletics. During his tenure as Athletic Director, a culture centered on Christ and competitive excellence continued to flourish. Coach Horne will remain a vital part of the Summit community as he transitions into leading the Middle School Bible program, while remaining the Dean of Students.
Head of School Scott Mac Leod reflected on Coach Horne’s service, saying “We are grateful for Coach Horne’s service and for the tremendous growth he has brought across all sports throughout his three-year term as AD. We are excited about him taking over our Middle School Bible program. We believe his rapport and heart for our students and families in this new role will be a true blessing for the school.”
Coach Horne reflected, “As I transition out of the AD role, I am excited to take on the Bible program for the Middle School. Taking a step back from athletics will allow me to spend more time with my wife Jennifer and daughter Addison as she enters a pivotal time in her life. I am excited to share the Word of God with our sixth through eighth graders and share life with them. It is going to be a great transition as the athletic program will be in the hands of Coach Burnett, and I look to support him in any way I can. Go Eagles!”
Mr. Chris Burnett, a familiar face to many Summit families, is eager to partner with coaches, parents, and staff as he leads the next season of Summit Athletics.
“My family and I have been involved with SCA since the fall of 2023,” said Burnett, who is actively involved in the SCA Booster Club and is the parent of a varsity volleyball player. “I am excited for this opportunity to come alongside our wonderful parents and our dedicated staff to help shape students into the people that God intends them to be.”
Joining him in athletic leadership is Monique Keeley, who will serve as Assistant Athletic Director. Entering her eighth year at Summit, Keeley brings a combination of coaching involvement and administrative training.
“I am excited to step into the Assistant Athletic Director role while continuing to teach middle school technology at Summit Christian Academy,” said Mrs. Keeley. “In this new role, I am looking forward to supporting our coaches and student-athletes, strengthening our athletic programs, and helping create opportunities for students to grow both on and off the field as they pursue excellence for God’s glory.”
Summit Christian Academy remains committed to developing student-athletes who honor Christ through competition. Please join us in thanking Coach Horne for his faithful leadership and congratulating Chris Burnett and Monique Keeley as they begin their new roles serving the SCA student body.
