TheatreFest 2025, hosted in Arlington, brought together more than 1,500 theatre educators from across Texas for a weekend of collaboration and professional growth. The event celebrated the power of performing arts education and the teachers who lead the next generation of performers.
Led by Summit Christian Academy’s own Director of Theatre Arts Ms. Jamie Coblentz, the “Secondhand to Stage” workshop explored how thrifted clothing can be transformed into original, period-appropriate costume designs, blending artistry and resourcefulness.
Jamie’s session received outstanding feedback from attendees, including one veteran teacher who remarked that she was “the teacher I want to be when I grow up.”
TheatreFest 2025 highlighted the value of ongoing professional development and reminded educators that sharpening their craft rekindles the passion that drives them to teach the next generation.
