Three Summit Christian Academy seniors have been honored by the College Board National Recognition Program for their outstanding academic achievements on the PSAT and in the classrooms, reflected by their GPA.
These awards highlight high-achieving students who have excelled in both standardized testing and GPA, opening the door to college scholarships and opportunities nationwide. We asked our award winners to share their aspirations for the future, while reflecting on the role Summit Christian Academy has played in preparing them for academic success.
John Howard – School Recognition Award
A Summit Eagle since 9th grade, John plans to pursue Civil Engineering with top college choices including Texas Tech, UT Austin, and Texas A&M. He shared that SCA prepared him for success on the PSAT by encouraging him to study and educating him on the importance of the exam. John also credits Summit as “a welcoming environment that promotes hard work and discipline in my studies.”
Aidan Tapperson – School Recognition Award
An Eagle since 7th grade, Aidan plans to study Biomedical or Chemical Engineering, with top choices including Colorado School of Mines, UC Boulder, and UT Austin. Reflecting on his preparation for the PSAT, Aidan highlighted the extensive practice he received through Junior Seminar class offered at Summit. He also values the “personalized attention from teachers and the smaller class sizes,” which have supported his academic excellence and growth.
Lawrence Leng – First Generation Recognition Award
Also an Eagle since 9th grade, Lawrence plans to major in Animal Science or Education and is considering Texas A&M and Texas Tech as his top college choices. Lawrence credits English Language training in Ms. Smith’s class for preparing him for success on the PSAT, and notes that “teachers make time for and care about their students,” about SCA’s academic support.
Summit Christian Academy is proud of these students for their dedication and hard work. Their recognition by the College Board reflects not only their individual effort, but also the supportive community of teachers, peers, and families at SCA who walk alongside them.
Congratulations, John, Aidan, and Lawrence! We can’t wait to see all that God has in store for your future.
