SCA Teachers Trained on AI to Enhance Personalized Learning

Summit Christian Academy > Academics > SCA Teachers Trained on AI to Enhance Personalized Learning

Preparing students to impact the world for Jesus Christ means equipping them for the world they are actually stepping into. As technology continues to shape education and the workplace, our teachers are actively learning how to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) responsibly and effectively.

During this week’s in-service, every SCA teacher participated in sessions focused on using AI to enhance classroom efficiency and strengthen individualized instruction while maintaining healthy boundaries. Our secondary faculty continue to grow through monthly staff trainings led by the school’s AI Fun Committee. These ongoing conversations ensure our teachers stay thoughtful and aligned to our mission as they explore classroom applications.

Excellence in education at SCA means training our faculty with tools that improve teaching without replacing the relational heart of learning. For our teachers, AI is about creating more time for teachers to do what matters most: invest in students spiritually, build relationships, and deliver highly personalized instruction.

During secondary staff meetings, teachers explore ways AI can help reduce administrative workload while increasing instructional creativity. By reducing time spent on repetitive tasks, teachers are able to focus more intentionally on mentoring students and creating more personalized learning experiences.

Elementary teams focused on applying data directly to small-group planning. Teachers begin by analyzing curriculum standards and reviewing each student’s RIT band, which helps identify specific learning skills and areas for growth. From there, educators use AI to help generate two weeks of small-group lesson plans aligned to each student’s current performance level. The result is highly focused, data-driven teaching that meets students where they are while challenging them to grow.

Summit Christian Academy remains deeply committed to guiding students with healthy boundaries around technology.  We recognize that AI is a present reality. As educators entrusted with the care and development of each child, we believe it is our responsibility to prepare students not only academically, but also ethically and spiritually for the opportunities and challenges ahead.

Technology will continue to evolve, but our mission to empower students to impact the world for Jesus Christ remains the same.
