This week, our middle school and high school chapel focused on the Value and Sanctity of Life. Students were reminded that each of us was known and loved by God before we were even formed in the womb. As image bearers of Christ, our identity and value are not defined by circumstance, but by our Creator.
Students watched explanatory videos from the Colson Center, then teachers led them by establishing clear expectations for discussion, including listening respectfully and thinking before speaking. Students then met in grade and gender-specific discussion groups with a trusted teacher present to guide and support them, creating a space for honest conversation and thoughtful reflection.
They reflected on Genesis 1:27, Jeremiah 1:5, and Psalm 139:13–14, which allowed them to connect scripture to real-world issues and build a strong foundation for Christ-centered decision making.
Summit is proud to be a school where students learn through a biblical worldview and are equipped to face challenges beyond our campus. The opportunity for SCA students to be taught by educators who genuinely know them, love them, and point them to Christ is invaluable.
Since children spend over 1,000 hours at school over the course of a year, the environment in which they learn matters deeply. When families invest in a Christ-centered education, they are investing in eternal impact. At Summit, we partner with families to intentionally shape the hearts and minds of students so they can become confident leaders who impact the world for Jesus Christ.
