A Better High School Experience Starts at Summit

Summit Christian Academy > Academics > A Better High School Experience Starts at Summit

Choosing the right high school is one of the most important decisions a family can make. These four years shape not only a student’s academic future, but also their character and direction in life. High School at Summit Christian Academy is intentionally designed to prepare students for life beyond graduation.

A School That Truly Knows Your Student

One of the greatest differences families notice at SCA is how well students are known.

Beginning in 8th grade and continuing through graduation, students and their families receive one-on-one guidance from our college counselor. This isn’t a one-time meeting or a generic plan; it’s a relationship. Because our staff has the capacity to invest personally, they get to know each student’s strengths, goals, and calling. That level of care allows us to guide students with clarity and purpose as they make decisions about their future.

Students aren’t just another face in a crowded classroom. Teachers are able to give individualized attention, challenge students appropriately, and provide support when it’s needed. In AP-level and dual credit courses, this often creates an environment that feels more like personalized instruction or tutoring rather than a traditional lecture setting.

The smaller class sizes encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and fully engage.

Academic Excellence That Delivers Real Results

Families want to know that their student’s high school experience will lead somewhere.

SCA students consistently earn admission to highly respected universities, including Division I schools. While our graduating classes may be smaller than larger area schools, our students are competing for and earning spots at the same colleges and universities. The difference is how prepared they are when they get there.

Many students graduate with a significant number of college credit hours already completed, ranging anywhere from 3 to 30 hours. This gives students a head start academically, and can reduce time spent in college and save families thousands of dollars in tuition.

A Culture of Accountability

Because of the lower student to teacher ratio, SCA students are challenged and held to a high standard. Faculty and staff are able to address issues early and provide accountability and mentorship.

Rather than allowing students to get lost in the distractions that can come with larger environments, SCA intentionally partners with families to reinforce Christ-centered habits and wise decision-making.

Spiritual Formation and a Heart to Serve

Spiritual growth is woven into the daily life of our high school.

Students participate in weekly discipleship groups led by teachers and trusted parents, creating consistent spaces for mentorship and spiritual encouragement. This intentional time in small groups allows students to ask questions, build relationships, and grow in their faith alongside peers and leaders who truly know them.

In the classroom, high school Bible courses build strong biblical literacy, which helps students understand Scripture enough to apply it confidently to their lives. Students are not only learning what they believe, but why they believe it.

Each year, SCA students have opportunities to serve through Impact Trips, partnering with communities across the country and internationally. These experiences challenge students to step outside their comfort zones to live out their faith.

On average, students complete over 200 service hours during their high school years at Summit Christian Academy. Through service, students learn what it means to live out their faith in real, tangible ways.

More In-Depth Opportunities

In many large schools, students have to compete just to participate. At SCA, students have the opportunity to be fully involved in multiple programs across campus.

Whether it’s athletics, fine arts, or other programs, students are able to more deeply explore multiple interests. With a smaller student body, participation is more accessible and allows students to gain experience and build leadership rather than watching from the sidelines. This well-rounded involvement helps shape students into leaders who are prepared for whatever path they choose next.

We strive to point every decision back to our mission: partnering with families to empower students to impact the world for Jesus Christ. High school at SCA is more than preparation for college. It’s preparation for life. Our goal is that students leave equipped academically, grounded in their faith, confident in who they are in Christ.

Choosing where your child spends these formative years matters. The relationships they build, the values they develop, and the opportunities they are given will shape who they become.
