In honor of Endangered Species Day, Summit Christian Academy’s 8th Grade Earth Science students hosted an Endangered Species Fair for classmates and teachers.
Each student selected an endangered species to research and represent, sharing the importance of protecting Earth’s delicate ecological balance. As part of the project, students competed for an imaginary conservation grant and were challenged to create a detailed financial plan explaining how funding would help protect their species.
The fair featured interactive presentations that brought their learning to life. Students engaged classmates and teachers through games, raffles, educational displays, and even themed recipes connected to their chosen animals.
The project gave students the opportunity to develop real-world skills in finance, graphic design, public relations, and nonprofit planning. Most importantly, it reinforced the biblical principle of using knowledge and influence to care for the vulnerable.
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves…” – Proverbs 31:8-9
SCA teachers love creating opportunities for students to apply classroom learning in ways that encourage both academic growth and Christ-centered leadership. The Endangered Species Fair was a wonderful example of students using science and creativity to make an impact.
