Rising fifth grade students had the opportunity to attend a free Technology Camp led by Mr. Allen Weuscher, former Toshiba Chief Information Officer and Mr. Paul Austin, SCA Director of Innovation. Mr. Austin previously taught computer science at SCA, and was the Chief Architect at National Instruments. This exciting camp provided the opportunity to explore two fascinating areas of technology: green screen video editing and building technology kits.
During the camp, students learned about the captivating world of green screen technology and its applications. They discovered how to create incredible videos using green screen effects and had hands-on practice with video editing software. This enhanced their creativity but also developed their technical skills in a fun and interactive way.
In addition, students had the chance to delve into the realm of building technology kits from Crunch Labs. They learned about various components, and worked on assembling and troubleshooting their own technology kits. This hands-on experience fostered problem-solving skills and encouraged critical thinking, all while sparking their interest in technology.
The camp aimed to provide a balanced and engaging experience for the students, combining both educational and recreational activities. Our experienced instructors ensured a safe and supportive environment for all participants, and promoted collaboration and teamwork among the campers.
Technology Camp was such a fantastic opportunity for our students to explore their creativity, develop their technical skills, and have a lot of fun along the way. Summit gives a heartfelt thanks to Allen Wuescher and Paul Austin for their enthusiasm, encouragement and dedication during this week!
