Summit Christian Academy’s Spring Concert 2025 was a stunning showcase of student talent and artistic expression. Featuring performances from the SCA Band, Choir, and Dance Company, the event highlighted the strength of the school’s Christian arts program and commitment to excellence in performing arts education.
Under the direction of Band Director Adam Ferguson, the SCA Band delivered a powerful and dynamic performance. The talented student musicians—Jacob Modleski, Kalen Patrick, Annabelle Sherbo, Preston Glenn, Brian Metzgar, Libby Sparling, Leilani Mendoza, Julian Jordan, Joaquin Lopez, Conner Sanders, and Brea Smith—performed a diverse setlist. Their selections included “Festival of Hymns,” “A Distant Galaxy,” “Red Giant,” and a moving performance of “Goodness of God” in collaboration with the SCA Choir. These pieces showcased the students’ technical skill, musicality, and passion for performance.
Directed by Anitra Coulter Blunt, the SCA Choir brought heartfelt and harmonious vocals to the stage. Choir members Ben Waterman, Kendall Holt, Sydney Anderson, Hallie Murphy, Bailey Murrell, Brailyn Murrell, Brea Smith, and Joann Wong captivated the audience with a blend of contemporary and classic songs. Their performance included “Goodness of God” with the SCA Band, followed by “Pure Imagination,” “Once Upon a December,” “Jitterbug,” and a vibrant medley of “The Sound of Music Choral Highlights.” These selections reflected the choir’s vocal range and their ability to connect with the audience on an emotional level.
The SCA Dance Company, led by Dance Director Courtney Sanders, added a visual and expressive dimension to the concert. The dancers, ranging from elementary to secondary students, presented two emotionally resonant pieces. The Elementary Dance Team performed “Coat of Many Colors,” while the Secondary Dance Team presented “Greater Still.” Dancers included Sydney Anderson, Leilani Mendoza, Bailey Murrell, Brailyn Murrell, Joann Wong, Madison Aston, Camryn Capps, Lily Glenn, Addy Horne, Everly McAdams, Gabby Paredes, and Mia Sahim. Each performance demonstrated storytelling through movement and the depth of SCA’s dance program.
The SCA Spring Concert 2025 was more than just an evening of student performances—it was a celebration of creativity, community, and faith. As students from the Summit’s performing arts program united in music, voice, and movement, families and faculty were reminded of the transformative power of the arts. Summit Christian Academy continues to nurture young artists through Christ-centered arts education, preparing students not only for performance but also for a purpose-driven life.
