On Thursday, May 1st, 2025, Summit Christian Academy proudly participated in the National Day of Prayer event held at the Cedar Park Police Station. This year’s observance was especially meaningful, as it marked SCA’s 20th year taking part in this powerful community gathering—an annual tradition that continues to reflect the heart of our mission and values.
The National Day of Prayer is a yearly observance rooted in a long-standing American tradition. Established by Congress in 1952 and made an annual event on the first Thursday of May by President Ronald Reagan in 1988, the day calls citizens of all faiths to intercede for the nation, its leaders, and its people. Events are held across the country in city halls, courthouses, schools, churches, and public spaces as communities unite to seek God’s guidance and blessing.
For the past two decades, Summit Christian Academy has had the privilege of being involved in the Cedar Park observance—an opportunity to lead, serve, and stand alongside other believers in our city.
At this year’s event, our Vertical Choir opened the ceremony by leading attendees in the pledges to the American flag, the Christian flag, and the Bible, followed by a stirring performance of the National Anthem. Their reverence and confidence reflected the time and heart they invested in preparing for this important moment.
Our secondary worship team followed with a powerful worship song that invited attendees into a spirit of praise and intercession. Their musical leadership was a beautiful expression of faith and a testament to the role young people can play in shaping the spiritual atmosphere of their community.
This year’s national theme, taken from Romans 15:13, served as a reminder that our true source of hope is found in God. As local pastors, worship leaders, and community members gathered to pray, the event became a powerful symbol of unity and dependence on God in a world longing for peace, truth, and direction.
We are deeply proud of our students for their bold witness and spiritual leadership. Their participation in this annual event is not just a performance—it’s a living example of SCA’s ongoing commitment to raising young men and women who are rooted in Christ and equipped to impact their world.
We also thank the many parents and families who came out to join us in prayer. Your support helps reinforce the strength and significance of this 20-year tradition of community intercession.
