Summit Christian Academy is proud to announce the elected officers for the 2025-2026 National Honor Society (NHS) and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS).
The purpose of NHS and NJHS is clear: to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to serve others, to promote leadership, and to develop character in students. Selection is determined by a faculty council and is based not only on academic excellence but also on leadership, character, and service.
To be considered for membership, students must maintain a cumulative “A” average and also meet requirements for service and leadership. Eligible students are invited to apply, where their character and academic success are evaluated as part of the selection process. Once inducted, students are expected to uphold these standards and serve as role models within the school community.
As part of this commitment, NHS students are required to complete a minimum of 36 service hours per year, with at least 12 of those hours taking place during the school year on campus. This ensures that students are not only fulfilling a one-time service requirement but are engaging in consistent service throughout the year.
Under the leadership of College Guidance Counselor Mrs. Ten Brook, NHS and NJHS students meet monthly to discuss service projects, character development, and scholastic accountability. This year, Mrs. Ten Brook is placing special emphasis on character development through educational videos and group discussion.
NHS and NJHS recognize students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, service, and character—qualities that reflect Summit’s mission to empower students to impact the world for Jesus Christ.
Summit is excited to see how these student leaders will use their gifts and influence to serve others and pursue excellence in the year ahead.
