After a successful fall sports season, Summit athletes are ready to hit the court for basketball season!
We’re proud to have passionate coaches leading each of our teams this year:
Elementary Girls: Coach Amber Peconga
Elementary Boys: Coach Karlyne Raphael
Intermediate Girls: Coach Brad Smith
Intermediate Boys: Coach Aaron Fisher
High School Boys: Head Coach Brian Tapperson & Assistant Coach Aaron Fisher
Our High School boys opened their season last night with an exciting first home game against Hill Country Christian School of Austin. Although they fell short 47-58, the boys proved they have the grit and energy for a successful season ahead.
“We all get along, build each other up, and help one another improve,” shared freshman Boden Tapperson. “Basketball has strengthened me to be disciplined physically and mentally, and to depend on God both on and off the court.”
Junior Wesley Hicks said he’s excited to build friendships and improve his game during his first year on the team. “It’s been humbling and a good reminder that there’s always someone better than you, so you need to keep working hard,” he shared. Sophomore Trevor Creekmore sees the team’s strengths in “attitude, effort, and commitment.”
Summit’s basketball season is focused on teamwork, grit, and character. We’re proud of our student-athletes for the way they represent Christ on and off the court.
Fans can catch the next home games on November 18th for Elementary and Intermediate and December 11th for High School. Let’s fill the gym and continue to support our athletes this season!
