Michelle East

The Lord led me into teaching art 16 years ago at Summit, and I love it! I teach 4th grade through AP High School Art. I am also the Specials Team Leader and Fine Arts Department Head. For the last seven years I have also taught an after school art enrichment class for K-5th grade students. I received my BA degree in Studio Art from Hardin Simmons University and hold an ACSI Specialist Certification.

My husband Matt and I have been married for 25 years and we have three children: Kayleigh, Caleb, and Nathan. I am also an active professional artist, a potter (www.MichelleEastArt.com), and a blogger for my art education blog Create Art with ME (www.CreateArtwithME.com). Most of my extra time is spent in my studio painting with watercolor, acrylic and oils, but I love working with lots of different mediums especially ceramics. I am also part of the PACT ministry at HCBC Lakeline. PACT stands for Prayer and Creativity Team which seeks to glorify God through our artwork.  My desire is to glorify God with the talents He has given and to point others towards Him with my art.
