Equipping Students to Serve for Christ Through Impact Education

Summit Christian Academy > Faith > Equipping Students to Serve for Christ Through Impact Education

Summit Christian Academy is proud to partner with families to empower students to impact the world for Jesus Christ. One of the most powerful ways we live out this mission is through our Impact Education program, led by Impact Director Ginger Lambert (Mrs. G). Impact Education is a discipleship pathway that shapes students into compassionate, confident servant leaders who understand their purpose in God’s Kingdom. From Pre-K to 12th grade, students are given the tools and opportunities to grow in their faith through service.

This semester, our students stepped into service in a variety of communities:

8th Grade: Camp Tejas—Our 8th graders traveled to Camp Tejas in Giddings, where they jumped into hands-on work to help prepare the camp for ‘Christmas at Tejas’. Students wrapped trees, cleared brush, and served as extra helping hands. Their service helped Camp Tejas set the stage for an intimate setting for families to celebrate Christmas, keeping Christ at the center of it all.

10th Grade: Hugo, Oklahoma—The 10th grade class spent time in Hugo, Oklahoma assisting the community through projects like park clean-up and painting pavilions. Although inclement weather shortened the trip, students didn’t let that stop them from serving! They returned back to school a day early and used their prepared skit to teach Summit elementary students through songs, games, Bible teaching, and prayer.

7th Grade: Burnet County—Our 7th graders served elderly residents and adults with special needs at a local Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Burnet County. Each small group was given a small amount of money and asked to pray about how God wanted them to use it to bless someone they didn’t know. One group met needs at a retirement center, while the other group gave their money to a single mother at a daycare to support Christmas for her children.

Even our youngest Eagles take part in Impact Education! This semester, our Kindergarteners visited the Leander Police Station, where they sang for first responders and shared the love of Jesus through music. More elementary service opportunities are planned for the spring, including making cards, visiting nursing homes and retirement centers, supporting Hope Austin, and praying for those in need.

We are grateful for a school committed to raising world-changers, and we look forward to another semester of powerful Impact education as we continue equipping students from Pre-K to 12th grade to impact the world for Jesus Christ.
