Secondary School

6th Grade Teacher

Summit Christian Academy is an independent, non-denominational, college preparatory school dedicated to the highest academic standards taught through a biblical worldview.

Education:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of two years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • Valid Texas Teaching License
  • ACSI certification required within the first year of employment

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of 6th grade TEKS in all core content areas of ELA, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies
  • Demonstrates a strong Christian testimony
  • Creates a positive learning environment reflective of the love of Christ
  • Effectively manages a classroom and students
  • Committed to forming personal relationships with students and families
  • Works cooperatively with team members

College Guidance Counselor

Summit Christian Academy is an independent, non-denominational, college preparatory school dedicated to the highest academic standards taught through a biblical worldview.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Master’s (Preferred)
  • Minimum of two years of successful experience as a College Guidance Counselor or two years teaching in a classroom
  • Valid Texas Teaching License
  • ACSI certification required within the first year of employment

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain 4 year plans for High School students
  • Conduct one-on-one student/parent parents for Grades 9-12
  • Enroll students in DC courses through ACC and LeTourneau
  • Oversee campus testing including PSAT, SAT, and ACT
  • Lead college and career instruction for grades 6-12
  • Work with Junior and Senior students to successfully navigate the college application process
  • Act as sponsor for the NJHS and NHS chapters on campus
  • Demonstrate a strong Christian testimony
  • Create a positive learning environment reflective of the love of Christ
  • Effectively manage a classroom and students
  • Commit to forming personal relationships with students and families
  • Work cooperatively with team members
  • Teach in an innovative, inquiry-based manner where students are challenged to think critically

Band Teacher

Summit Christian Academy is an independent, non-denominational, college preparatory school dedicated to the highest academic standards taught through a biblical worldview. The candidate is responsible for providing leadership to all aspects of the school’s band program including recruiting, retention, and rehearsals for winter/spring performances. The position includes teaching band for intermediate school and high school students. Responsibilities also include direction of the high school drumline, which plays at high school football games and pep rallies. The candidate must be equipped to teach from a Biblical worldview in the classroom setting.

Education:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of two years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • Valid Texas Teaching License
  • ACSI certification required within the first year of employment

Elementary School

Elementary Music & Secondary Choir Teacher

This position includes teaching weekly elementary music classes, teaching middle/high school choir, and leading elementary worship during chapel. The candidate must have teaching experience and be equipped to teach from a Biblical worldview.

Job Type: FullTime/PartTime (Days and Hours TBD)

  • Other duties as assigned as needed

Benefits:

  • Full-time, permanent teachers are eligible to participate in group medical, dental, and vision insurance and a 401K.
  • Full time, permanent teachers receive one day personal time off for every completed month of service during the contract year, for a maximum of 10 days.
