Secondary School

Full Time Position: Assistant Athletic Director & High School Science/Math Teacher

Summit Christian Academy is an independent, non-denominational, college-preparatory school dedicated to the highest academic standards taught through a biblical worldview.

This is a full-time position split between the duties of an Assistant Athletic Director and a High School Science/Math teacher. Ideally, we are looking for a teacher to teach Physics and AP Calculus. However, we can be flexible with the Science courses based on the candidate and their degree/experience.

Education:
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field from an accredited college or university; Master’s preferred
Valid Texas Teaching License
ACSI certification required within the first year of employment
Demonstrates a strong Christian testimony and alignment with school values.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with school staff, coaches, students, and families.
Current or willingness to obtain First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.

Experience:
Minimum of two years of successful classroom teaching experience

Position Summary – High School Teacher
Demonstrate knowledge of the academic standards in the courses of Physics and AP Calculus (other Science courses open, as well).
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the designed curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation
Demonstrates a strong Christian testimony
Creates a positive learning environment reflective of the love of Christ
Effectively manages a classroom and students
Committed to forming personal relationships with students and families
Works cooperatively with team members
Equipped to teach in an innovative, inquiry-based manner where students are challenged to think critically

Position Summary – Athletic Director
The Assistant Athletic Director supports the Athletic Director in the leadership and management of the school’s athletic programs across all grade levels. This position helps implement a Christ-centered vision for athletics that aligns with the mission of the school, fosters school spirit, and ensures a high standard of excellence in coaching, communication, and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Policy & Procedures
Support compliance with corporate policies and athletic procedures.
Assist in enforcing rules and expectations set forth by TAPPS and ACAA.
Financial Support
Help monitor team budgets and expenses for all grade levels.
Process purchase orders and assist with vendor payments for equipment, uniforms, and event fees.
Personnel Assistance
Aid in identifying, onboarding, and evaluating coaches.
Help coordinate team managers, event helpers, and substitute coaching as needed.
Meetings & Communication
Participate in administrative, seasonal coaches’, and parent meetings.
Communicate schedule changes and athletic news to staff, families, and community.
Clerical & Calendar Management
Maintain rosters, update websites/calendars, and handle athletic documentation.
Ensure timely communication about practices, eligibility, waivers, and awards.
Event Operations
Assist with setup, supervision, and follow-up for practices, games, and tournaments.
Coordinate transportation and facility use.

Elementary School

Substitute Aftercare Leader

Summit Christian Academy is an independent, non-denominational, college preparatory school dedicated to the highest academic standards taught through a biblical worldview.

The Substitute Aftercare Leader is a position that works with our students after school hours in a dedicated on-site setting.
The position does not guarantee hours.

Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older
Job Type: Hourly
Hours: 3:30 – 6:00 pm (on an as needed basis)
Pay: DOE

Elementary Music/Secondary Choir Teacher

Summit Christian Academy is an independent, non-denominational, college preparatory school dedicated to the highest academic standards taught through a biblical worldview.

The Elementary Music/Secondary Choir Teacher is a position that will be opening for fall 2025. The position includes teaching weekly elementary music classes, teaching secondary choir, and planning music events.
Education: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience is required.
Qualifications: A knowledge of music theory, a history of performance-based singing, and be equipped to teach from a Biblical worldview.
