Secondary School

Part Time Position: High School Science/Math Teacher

Summit Christian Academy is an independent, non-denominational, college-preparatory school dedicated to the highest academic standards taught through a biblical worldview.

This is a part-time position for a High School Science/Math teacher. Ideally, we are looking for a teacher to teach Physics and AP Calculus. However, we can be flexible with the Science courses based on the candidate and their degree/experience.

Education:
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field from an accredited college or university; Master’s preferred
Valid Texas Teaching License
ACSI certification required within the first year of employment
Demonstrates a strong Christian testimony and alignment with school values.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience:
Minimum of two years of successful classroom teaching experience

Position Summary – High School Teacher
Demonstrate knowledge of the academic standards in the courses of Physics and AP Calculus (other Science courses open, as well).
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the designed curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation
Demonstrates a strong Christian testimony
Creates a positive learning environment reflective of the love of Christ
Effectively manages a classroom and students
Committed to forming personal relationships with students and families
Works cooperatively with team members
Equipped to teach in an innovative, inquiry-based manner where students are challenged to think critically

Half-Time position (High School Science/Math Teacher)

Full Time Position: High School Spanish Teacher

Education:

Minimum of two years of successful classroom teaching experience

Qualifications:
Bilingual: Spanish and English
Valid Texas Teaching License
ACSI certification required within the first year of employment

Position Summary – High School Teacher
Responsible for teaching High School Spanish I, Spanish II, Spanish III and Spanish IV
Develops and implements lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the designed curriculum program (and show written evidence of preparation; lesson plans must address listening, speaking, writing, and reading skills)
Demonstrates knowledge about Spanish speaking countries and cultures in the Spanish-speaking world
Demonstrates a strong Christian testimony
Creates a positive learning environment reflective of the love of Christ
Effectively manages a classroom and students
Committed to forming personal relationships with students and families
Works cooperatively with team members
Equipped to teach in an innovative, inquiry-based manner where students are challenged to think critically

Substitute Aftercare Leader

Summit Christian Academy is an independent, non-denominational, college preparatory school dedicated to the highest academic standards taught through a biblical worldview.

The Substitute Aftercare Leader is a position that works with our students after school hours in a dedicated on-site setting.
The position does not guarantee hours.

Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older
Job Type: Hourly
Hours: 3:30 – 6:00 pm (on an as needed basis)
Pay: DOE

Fifth Grade Classroom Teacher

Summit Christian Academy is an independent, non-denominational, college preparatory school dedicated to the highest academic standards taught through a biblical worldview.

Education:
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field from an accredited college or university
Valid Teaching License
ACSI certification required within the first year of employment

Experience:
2 years classroom teaching experience preferred

Qualifications:
Models a personal, authentic relationship with Jesus Christ
Creates a positive learning environment reflective of the love of Christ
Assesses the learning of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required
Effectively manages a classroom and students
Committed to forming personal relationships with students and families
Works cooperatively with team members
Represents the school in a favorable and professional manner to the constituency and general public
Follows established school policies, procedures and guidelines in a spirit of positive cooperation.
Integrates Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum
Possesses proficient technology skills and willing to adapt to technology changes
Equipped to teach in an innovative, inquiry-based manner where students are challenged to think critically
