The Summit Christian Academy College Guidance Office is dedicated to empowering students with clarity and confidence in their vocational callings through partnership, personalization, and skill-building. Rooted in the school’s mission to graduate students who will impact the world for Jesus Christ, the office collaborates with teachers, families, and students to align academic skills, a biblical worldview, and personal talents with future career paths.

Recent College Guidance Meetings

Recently, Mrs. Ten Brook held informative college guidance meetings for both rising freshmen through juniors and a separate session for rising seniors and their parents.

Meetings for Rising Freshmen to Juniors

During the meetings with rising freshmen through juniors, Mrs. Ten Brook emphasized that college planning starts in Freshman year. She highlighted the importance of maintaining good grades, as they are crucial for future opportunities. Additionally, she addressed the misconception that college is out of reach, explaining that it is more attainable than ever, with a focus on financial options available to families.

Mrs. Ten Brook reassured parents that she is there to provide ongoing support throughout the college planning process, emphasizing the value of partnership between families and the guidance office.

Meeting for Rising Seniors

The meeting for rising seniors and their parents focused on navigating the college application process. Mrs. Ten Brook provided essential insights into the steps seniors should take to ensure a smooth transition to college. She discussed strategies for presenting their best selves in applications and interviews while also addressing financial aid options. This meeting served as a vital resource for families to ask questions and clarify their concerns as they approach this important milestone.
