This summer, Summit’s courtyard, the heart of the campus, looks fresh and ready for student activity thanks to the dedication of our Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) leaders, Josh and Natalie Carpenter, who rolled up their sleeves along with extra help from Ms. Bev, Mr. Mike, and Colonel Mac Leod. The dedication and investment of Summit families to the school sets us apart from others. The PTF is an impactful way for parents and families to get plugged in at SCA.
The Carpenters, now in their fourth year at Summit, stepped into PTF leadership last year. With two daughters enrolled, they’ve seen firsthand the benefit of a Christ-centered community. Josh shared, “Seeing the spiritual and educational growth in our girls has been such a blessing, and we truly value the tight-knit community Summit has built.”
For the Carpenters, PTF is more than volunteer hours; it’s a ministry of connection. “We want to help bridge the gap between parents, teachers, and staff by supporting events that bring our community together. Even small projects can make a big impact, and we want to set an example for our girls and other parents by showing what can be accomplished through hard work and perseverance.”
How can parents get involved? Josh shared that financial contributions, volunteering, donating items, or sharing expertise all make a difference. “Whether it’s lighting for the Father-Daughter Dance, fun activities for the campout, or helping to find sponsorships for events as a few examples. Every bit helps, and it’s exciting to see so many people come together to make Summit stronger,” he shared.
