Books for Bingo: SCA Student Council Hosts Family Book Drive

Summit Christian Academy > Academics > Elementary > Books for Bingo: SCA Student Council Hosts Family Book Drive

The SCA Elementary Student Council recently hosted a lively and impactful Books for Bingo night, bringing students, families, and staff together for a memorable school community event focused on giving back. Held in the school’s common area, this family-friendly bingo night featured much more than just bingo.

Guests enjoyed a variety of fun games, a spirited cake walk, and a selection of incredible prizes that kept excitement levels high. The event was designed to engage the school community while promoting student leadership and community service.

The primary mission of Books for Bingo was to give student council members the opportunity to invest in their school through servant leadership, to strengthen fellowship within the school community, and to reach out to the wider community through a meaningful book donation drive.

Participants were invited to bring new or gently used children’s books. While a few donations were received in advance, most attendees contributed on the night of the event. In total, an impressive 141 books were donated.

All collected books will benefit BookSpring, a nonprofit literacy program focused on increasing early reading opportunities for children in underserved communities.

Thanks to the dedication of the SCA student council and the generosity of school families, the event was not only fun and festive, but also supported a powerful cause in early literacy outreach.
