Kristi Wellborn

IS/HS History

Kristi has extensive experience in coaching, in a variety of sports.  She began coaching in 1989 as a JV volleyball, 9th grade basketball, and Varsity track assistant coach. By 1992, she was awarded a Varsity volleyball position at the 4A school in which she was employed.  After 3 years at the 4A level, Kristi was hired as the Varsity volleyball coach in the Dallas area at a large 5A school, as well as Freshman basketball.  Upon moving back to the Panhandle, she served as a JV volleyball coach and assistant Varsity track coach at the 4A level.

After having children, she suspended coaching to focus on her son and daughter, Cole and Hattie.  Two children didn’t stop her from coaching, as she also worked on and off as a Middle School coach for volleyball, basketball, and track.  Kristi also has 4 years of experience as a club volleyball coach; where in 1993, her 16’s volleyball team won a bid to the national tournament.  Every coaching job has shaped her as a person and allowed her to build amazing relationships with student-athletes. She is so excited to work as a coach at SCA and looks forward to the incredible growth that our athletes will achieve!
