Admissions Process

Application Requirements

SCA does not have an application deadline, as we have a rolling admissions process.

  • Pre-K3 students must be 3 years old by September 1 of the year for which they are applying.
  • Pre-K4 students must be 4 years old by September 1 of the year for which they are applying.
  • Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by September 1 of the year for which they are applying.

Pre-K and Kindgergarten applicants must be able to care for their restroom needs independently.

There are no exceptions to these requirements.

  • A non-refundable application fee of $150 is to be submitted with the application form.
  • Pre-K & Kindergarten students: not applicable
  • 1st-7th grades: Copies of current report card as well as previous school records (report cards and standardized test scores from the last two years), and any educational or diagnostic testing.
  • 8th-12th grades: Copies of current report card as well as previous school records (report cards and standardized test scores from the last two years), a transcript, and any educational or diagnostic testing.
  • Birth certificate: A copy is required of all applicants.
  • Immunization Record: A copy of the applicant’s immunization record is required.  Immunization records must include month, day and year of each shot, and the healthcare provider’s signature or stamp.
    • Please also include the most current vision, hearing and spinal screenings.
    • The State of Texas requires that all students be up to date on immunizations to attend public or private school.  The school must be provided a current immunization record, and the student must be up to date with the required immunizations prior to the first day of school.  For more specific information on which immunizations are required, please visit www.immunizetexas.com.
  • Student Questionnaire: This form is required for new students entering 6th-12th grades.  Click here to be directed to our Enrollment Forms page.
  • Other: If you are a divorced family, you must submit the most recent copy of all court documents regarding custody and educational decisions that are signed by a judge and notarized.
  • Pre-K applicants, who are currently enrolled in a preschool program, need to have their current teacher fill out the Kindergarten recommendation form.  In addition, the Headmaster/Principal of the school will need to fill out the Headmaster/Principal form.  Click here to be taken to these forms.
  • Kindergarten – 4th grade applicants are required to have their current Elementary teacher fill out the Teacher Recommendation form.  In addition, the Headmaster/Principal of the school will need to fill out the Headmaster/Principal form.  Click here to be taken to these forms.
  • 6th-12th grade applicants are required to have their current English and Math teachers fill out the corresponding forms.  In addition, the Headmaster/Principal of the school will need to fill out the Headmaster/Principal form.  Click here to be taken to these forms.

International Students

  • International students are welcome at Summit Christian Academy.  We currently have students from China, France, Mexico, Korea, and Vietnam.
  • We offer different ESL (English as a Second Language) levels. 
  • All forms must be translated into English, including the immunization records.

Our ESL Coordinator will utilize their professional knowledge to determine the correct placement of Elementary students based upon admissions testing and/or an interview.  Please click here for more information on our International Program.

Admissions Testing

Testing varies by grade.  Please see below for more information.

  • Testing is scheduled by the Registrar after the receipt of all required admissions forms and the application fee.
  • All testing is conducted on an individual basis.
  • The $150 application fee holds your place until the testing results have come in.  Once the child’s school grade been established, a $500 new student fee will be required to hold the student’s place.  For more information on fees, click here.
  • The shadowing experience is available to all applicants currently in 1st-12th grades.
  • The length of the visit may vary based on schedule availability and the age of the applicant.
  • Shadowing opportunities are based at the discretion of SCA.
  • All forms must be completed prior to the shadow visit.

Acceptance

Official acceptance (or non-acceptance) is communicated to all families in writing or over the phone.  Only a signed Financial Agreement guarantees your enrollment for your child.

Tuition Assistance

  • Financial Aid is offered on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Financial Aid will be considered after the student has completed all paperwork and has enrolled.
  • In return for Financial Aid assistance, families are required to serve volunteer hours.  The number of hours required is based on the number of students in your family receiving financial aid, and will be explained to you in your Financial Aid letter.

A family is able to apply for Financial Aid and the Multi-Student discount. However, only one will be rewarded, as you cannot receive both the Financial Aid and Multi-student discount.

We offer a multi-student discount for our families with multiple children attending Summit in Kinder – 12th grades.

The highest grade will pay the full amount of tuition.

The next highest grade will receive a 10% discount on the annual tuition.

The next highest grade will receive a 20% discount on the annual tuition.

The next highest grade will receive a 30% discount on the annual tuition.

The next highest grade will receive a 40% discount on the annual tuition.

 

A family is able to apply for Financial Aid and the Multi-Student discount. However, only one will be rewarded, as you cannot receive both the Financial Aid and Multi-student discount.
