Summit Christian Academy Band playing trumpets Band students at Summit Christian Academy perform, serve, and compete for the purpose of developing excellence in character and musicianship. The program consists of two sixth grade Beginning Band classes and Middle and High School classes. Summit has recently added Jazz Band to its High School Band Curriculum. In addition to Christmas and Spring Concerts, the band performs for pep rallies, ball games, and other school functions. The band serves the community each May by playing for the National Day of Prayer service held at Cedar Park City Hall.

Individual and full band contests stimulate continuous improvement in the band program. Our primary source for competition is the Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB) in conjunction with the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA). ATSSB is a strong organization with over 95% of Texas A, AA, and AAA public and private school band programs as members. In addition, we participate in the Leander ISD Pre-UIL and Solo and Ensemble contests.
