Summit Christian Academy is proud to announce the formation of our first ever Chess Club. Chess is a great social activity and competitive sport, which everyone can enjoy. Chess Club is a great opportunity to meet new friends with a common interest in an academically enriching environment that promotes sportsmanship and other positive social skills.

| On Saturday, January 24th, 2009, the SCA Chess Club went to their first ever chess tournament. Held at Matthews Elementary, the tournament had a very large following which included a Master rated player in the Open category. Glory Chi and Sean Aleman represented Summit Christian Academy for the K-12 Category and Mr. Aleman entered into the Open class. Both Glory and Sean gathered great experience under tournament conditions and represented SCA well. Sean Aleman and Mr. Aleman won a second place trophy for the parent/child category. |
