SCA’s Learning Lab assists students with their academic classes in a tutorial setting while helping students learn their strengths and weaknesses, find ways to cope with these attributes, and continue to function in the classroom. The Learning Lab also supports the classroom teachers by assisting them with accommodations and plans for those students with learning differences. This program will unite the expertise of regular and special educators to provide the best educational approach for each child. The goal is to assist students with assignments before they get behind in their work. Each student will receive accommodations according to their individual needs. Some examples of when students may come to the Learning Lab include: completing independent work that requires significant one-on-one support or small group interaction to be successful; needing to have a test read aloud; needing to participate in a study session prior to taking a test; and/or needing to re-teach, pre-teach, or review materials.
